We are a colourful and intriguing boutique lifestyle and gift store in the gorgeous and bustling ancient stannary town of Ashburton, Devon.
Situated on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, we are part of a vibrant and exciting community with a thriving art scene, a reputation for quality antique stores, highly regarded food establishments and a whole host of brilliant independent shops and businesses. We sell vintage treasures, desirable stationery, exclusive prints and original art and retro collectables.
About PAD
PAD is a young business, having started trading in November 2022. Over the years I have always romanced about having my own shop and am thrilled that I’ve made that a reality. Following a three-decade career as an award-winning television producer, responsible for high-profile shows such as The Royal Variety Performance, Stars in Their Eyes, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and Another Audience with Dame Shirley Bassey, I relocated back to my home county of Devon in 2021. I still keep my hand in the television business, developing the next big shows for some of Britain’s top entertainment talent, but I love having the opportunity to welcome customers into PAD and enjoy chatting with them!
Customers always ask where the name PAD originated. I like that it is a term used for ‘home’, and also relates to the stationery we stock. However, the main reason behind the name is in honour of my two greatest heroes – my late parents Pam And Don – PAD.
I sadly lost both my parents in 2022 and I always told them that one day I’d have a shop of my own. Sadly, they didn’t ever get to see that become a reality, but I know how proud they would have been and how much they’d have enjoyed having a nosey around! So, I wished to pay tribute to their unwavering support throughout my life. Love you Pam and Don x
